This time the composer and conductor Matthias Pintscher is a guest to talk to the three musicians of the Boulanger Trio about his work. Pintscher models the sound in his compositions like a sculptor models a sculpture – going on a journey with him through meandering soundscapes is one of the fascinating listening experiences when encountering his music. He titles his current work for solo violin ‘la linea evocativa’ as ‘drawing’. It was created in response to George Condo. Internal Riot, an exhibition of new paintings and work by the artist in New York. The poignant cycle ‘Profiles of Light’ is inspired by the abstract expressionist works of the painter Barnett Newman and is a piece about resonances, about the inner and outer realities of existence. ‘svelto’ concludes this portrait of one of the most fascinating composers of our time.
